Harry Sitomer
SL Green's wunderkind president, from summer intern to Holliday's right hand
Who they are
Harry (Harrison) Sitomer is the man The Promote calls SL Green's undisputed heir apparent. He joined the REIT as a summer intern in 2011, hired by veteran dealmaker Brett Herschenfeld. He rose quickly, especially once SLG's senior bench emptied out between 2020 and 2023: co-CIOs Isaac Zion and David Schonbraun left, and then president Andrew Mathias. Sitomer, still in his 30s, took on their portfolios, became CIO, and in early 2026 added the president's title. In The Promote's phrase, he has both the title and the juice.
His reputation rests on the messiest deals in the capital stack. He ran SLG's arbitration with HNA, the troubled Chinese conglomerate, over 245 Park Avenue; SLG sought about $185M on its preferred-equity position. He then sold half of that tower to Mori Trust in 2023 at a $2B valuation. In 2026 he is lining up a roughly $2B CMBS refinancing there, which the podcast calls a likely monster payoff. His team also bought the distressed debt on RFR's 522 Fifth Avenue at 60 cents on the dollar and was repaid in full within months. Through Green Loan Services, SLG's special-servicing arm, his group has steered workouts at the Helmsley Building and Parkmerced and now oversees the GM Building loan.
On offense, Sitomer has been buying on Park Avenue. SLG agreed to pay $730M for Park Avenue Tower. It also bought the Brooks Brothers site at 346 Madison for $160M and sold Mori Building 49% of the planned office tower there. RFR's lawsuit over that deal named the seller, not SLG. In April 2026 SLG was reportedly in pole position to step into Hyundai's struggling 15 Laight in Tribeca. Herschenfeld left for Kennedy Lewis in June, which leaves Sitomer even more clearly as the deal chief under Marc Holliday.
